Pink-tinted porcelain shoulder head with rounded facial modeling, cobalt blue glass enamel eyes, painted dark short lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid fashion body with gusset- jointing of hips and knees, pink-tinted porcelain arms to above the elbows, cupped fingers, lovely costume of antique fabrics. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: D'Autremont 6 rue du Dauphon Paris (oval stamp on torso). Comments: Benjamin D'Autremont, circa 1860, his small doll shop was mentioned in Gazette de la Poupee; the shop was established only from 1860-1866 and few signed examples of his dolls are known to exist. Value Points: superb fresh condition of the signed body, beautiful tinting of porcelain lends a realistic appearance, with blushing details of cheeks and hands.
