Description
9 1/2" (24 cm.) Pink-tinted porcelain shoulder of
slender-faced woman with elongated throat,black
sculpted hair in center-part,curls low onto
shoulders,painted blue eyes,black upper
eyeliner,single stroke brows,nostril
accents,closed mouth,carved wooden body with
shapely torso,dowel-jointing at shoulders and
hips,porcelain lower arms and legs with dowel
jointing at elbows and knees,right arm modeled
cupped for holding an object. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: 1460 ji (ink script
on back torso). Comments: Germany,circa 1850.
Value Points: very refined model with lustrous
patina of porcelain,wooden body with maker's or
carver's symbol.
