26" (66 cm) overall. A pair of paper mache goats are pulling a fancily woven wicker double-seated cabriolet with driver's seat and foot rest, red metal spoked wheels and elaborately shaped carriage underbed. The carriage is upholstered in rich tufting and pleats of aqua silk with braid edging, has foot steps, and a pair of elegant gilded carriage lamps. The goats have white fur torso cover, painted faces with leather ears, horns, glass eyes, and blue silk ribbons, and their hinged legs attach to the undercarriage mechanical device which, when wound, cause the goats to briskly trot along pulling the carriage. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1865. Value Points: exceptionally rare luxury toy in superbly preserved original condition.
