Description
12" (31 cm.) Of fine walnut with ebony painted and gilt decorated legs, the dressing table has a mirrored top surface, and an attached bronze hinged oval mirror and brackets; the brackets decorated with women's heads and claw feet. The single drawer opens to reveal a superbly fitted leather-tooled necessaire containing scissors, gold-plated thimble, and bone needlecase, inlay pen-knife, doll's comb, and two hooks. Excellent condition. The luxury quality suggests creation of Parisian store such as that of Giroux, circa 1865.
