23"h. (58 cm.) Superbly carved wooden chair with ebony finish has high back and lowered seat, designed for kneeling in prayer; the seat and arm rest are upholstered in rich black needlepoint with colorful flowers, and outlined with metal tacks. There is a hinged center spindle for use to support hymnal or prayer book. French, circa 1880, a rare chair perfect for display with larger dolls.
