19" (48 cm.) Socket head with painted facial features, brown shaded eyes, black and brown upper eyeliner, closed mouth, ash-blonde human hair, muslin body with jointed shoulders and legs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (label and number on bottom of feet). Comments: Kathe Kruse, circa 1960,the doll wears blue shorts, white shirt, silk tie, blue cap, shoes and socks, and has emblem of Operation Life-Saver, an organization designed to save lives at railroad crossings; the group was founded in 1972 and undertook a major promotional campaign in that year, of which this costumed doll may be one feature. Value Points: uniquely costumed Kathe Kruse doll, in fine original painted finish.
