Description
9" moon, 4" doll. A silk-covered padded slice of moon is decorated with embroidered flowers and edged with cording and blue silk ribbon bows; within a flap pocket of the moon is a small all- bisque baby with painted hair and facial features, loop-jointed bisque arms and legs, wearing antique baby gown and cap. The doll holds a glass bottle and a toothbrush and puff are arranged near by. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 830 (doll). Comments: presented for the French market, circa 1910, the charming novelty was designed for use as a pincushion and probably presented at baby shower. Value Points: perfectly preserved doll accessory with intricate and appealing detail.
