Description
22" (56 cm.) All stockinette doll with pressed and oil-painted face and hair, brown shaded hair, deep blue painted eyes with rich brown eye lashes, fringed brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, plump blushed cheeks, stitched ears, one-piece arms and legs with jointing at shoulders and hips, defined fingers and toes. Condition: generally excellent, one ear partially missing. Marks: Patented Sept 23,1904 (stamp on torso). Comments: Ella Smith's Alabama Baby, circa 1910. Value Points: fine original painting on the American cloth folk doll, with maker's mark.
