Description

19" (49 cm.) Bisque socket head with flattened solid dome, dark blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, defined space between the outlined lips, pierced ears, mohair wig, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body with attached ball-joints. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 11. Comments: attributed to Ernst Grossman, circa 1885. Value Points: made to appeal to the French market, the early closed mouth doll has lovely bisque and painting, original early body, antique costume.
