13"l. (33 cm.) Standing upon a wooden wheeled platform with painted grass and ground, is a bisque-headed doll with blue glass eyes, block torso and arms, alongside a paper mache donkey with decorative saddle and nodding head. At the back of the platform is a paper mache windmill with painted and vine decorations. When pulled along, the doll turns its head from side to side, waves the stick she holds in her hand, while the donkey vigorously nods its head and bleats and the blades of the windmill turn. Excellent condition. French, circa 1890. A superbly preserved French pull-toy with four movements and crying sound, well-functioning and all original.
