8"l. (20 cm.) Wax head baby is posed as though bursting from a paper mache Easter egg, with wax arms and legs in baby pose, the head with blue glass eyes, painted lashes, accented nostrils and eye corners, blonde hair, ruffled tulle bonnet, the egg with painted detail to suggest cracked shell, pull-strings at the side cause the baby to cry "mama". The head removes for access to the candy container center. French, circa 1885. Excellent condition. The rare novelty wax doll as candy container is beautifully preserved.
