Description
30" x 25" (76 x 63 cm.) Against a somber background of sepia and black tones, a blonde haired nude woman is seated upon a black-covered chaise, admiring an Art Deco salon doll that is posed upon the cover, the doll wearing 18th century style costume with white powdered wig. The painting, with excellent detail including fabric sheen of the doll's gown, is signed Robert Duflos, and is presented in its original frame with brass plaque "R. Duflos" On the reverse of frame are two original paper labels indicating the painting appeared in a French exposition. Circa 1930, by Rober-Luis-Raymond Duflos, born in Dijon, France 1898, member of Societaire du Salon des Artistes Francais, listed in Benezit.
