21"l. (54 cm.) Paper mache goat is lavishly covered with long curly mohair, with shaved paper mache loosely-nodding head, brown glass eyes, painted nose and mouth, attached ears, paper mache hooves, decorated with red silk bows. The style and deluxe quality indicate production by Alexandre Schanne, Paris, circa 1880,whose family excelled in the production of toy animals for nearly a century. Excellent condition.
