13" (33 cm.) Pale bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered arched brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with gentle smiling expression, accented pale lips, pierced ears, kid fashion body with shapely waist, square-cut collarette, gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: B (head and shoulder). Comments: Leon Casmir Bru, circa 1873, the unique facial model was registered by Bru in 1873,and is believed to be inspired by the face of the popular Empress Eugenie. Value Points: most appealing petite size with well-sculpted facial features, choice bisque, original body, beautiful antique costume.
