18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, mohair lashes, painted lower lashes, slightly modeled brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth, outlined lips, pierced ears, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1078 Germany Simon & Halbig S&H 7 1/2. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1900. Value Points: pristine unplayed with condition, the doll wears original folklore costume of white wool overcoat, vest and pants, with red felt trim, elaborate black soutache embroidery, with white cotton shirt, shoes, socks; the costume of tailor-made quality.
