18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head with plump facial modeling, cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brush-stroked feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth, accented and shaded lips, pierced ears, auburn mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F. 7 G. Comments: early period Gaultier bebe with block letter markings, circa 1884. Value Points: very fine quality of bisque, painting, and sculpted detail, original body and body finish, superb antique silk and lace costume, undergarments, shoes, socks, bonnet.
