Pressed bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, arched brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth, modeled space between the shaded and outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, Bru kid bebe body with gusset-jointing, square-cut collarette, bisque lower arms and separately sculpted fingers. Condition: generally excellent, few kid patches on body, finger repair on left hand. Marks: 4 (head) Bebe Brevete SGDG Paris (paper label). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, his first bebe model, circa 1878. Value Points: an exceptionally beautiful first-period Bru bebe with very deeply modeled features, plump cheeks and chin with delicate blushing, antique blue dress, with matching bonnet, undergarments, leather shoes signed with figure of lion.
