16" (42 cm.) Amber tinted bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes in half-moon shape, painted lashes, black feathered brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, open mouth, outlined lips, tongue, two porcelain upper teeth, black human hair, amber composition bent limb baby body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: K made in Germany 12 243 JDK (head, and partial Kestner paper label on throat) JDK made in Germany (body stamp). Comments: Kestner, circa 1914. Value Points: superb original condition of the rare model, choice bisque, wearing elaborate silk costume attributed to Gump's of San Francisco who imported the doll in the early 20th century for their wealthy clientele and costumed it in authentic Chinese costume.
