20" (52 cm.) Bisque socket head with deeply sculpted facial features, dark blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, brush stroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded lips, pierced ears, auburn mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully- jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Tete Depose Paris Bebe 9 (incised on head) Paris Bebe Depose (and Eiffel Tower symbol on body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, his registered model of Paris Bebe, the model was especially created for that trade name after winning his lawsuit with Danel & Cie, 1892. Value Points: very beautiful doll with highly characterized facial features, choice bisque and painting, original body and body finish, wonderful antique dress, undergarments, bonnet, stockings, leather shoes.
