Pale bisque swivel head with perfectly oval-shaped head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate with modeled bosom, unique deposed neck attachment allowing the head to swivel, nod and tilt, cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, heavy eye lids, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, lightly feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with slightly upturned lip corners, accented lips, unpierced ears, blonde mohair wig in elaborate arrangement held by snood,kid gusset-jointed fashion body with slightly padded bosom, bisque arms from above the elbows, cupped fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Dehors Brevete (back shoulder plate). Comments: Alexandre Dehors, circa 1866, the doll was created for l'Exposition Universelle of 1867. Value Points: portrait poupee with distinctive facial model for Dehors, patented neck attachment, and superbly preserved condition with perfect and choice bisque, painting, original wig, original body, original silk costume.
