12" (30 cm.) The original Kestner model of Kewpie has a bisque socket head with large brown glass side-glancing eyes, classic Kewpie topknot and forelock curls, pug nose, impish thin line smile, composition and wooden ball-jointed toddler body with side-hip jointing and starfish-styled hands, and is wearing its original pink crepe- paper party dress. Kewpie is preserved in its original box with illustrations and labels. Marked Ges Gesch O'Neill 1 JDK (on head) and O'Neill (pencil script on foot). Kestner, Germany, circa 1912
