Description
5" (13 cm.) Kewpie is seated with folded arms and ankles, eyes glancing to the left, upon a bisque chair in the rustic Adirondack style with shaded brown coloring. The richly embossed detail of sculpting extends around all sides of the chair. Similarly modeled Kewpies were designed to sit in a variety of chairs (for example, see #288 and #347 of this book) although this example is by far the rarest of the series. Germany, circa 1912.
