5 1/2" (14 cm.) All-bisque standing Kewpie with left-glancing eyes and jointed arms has unusual highly detailed sculpting of hair, more highly defined nose, and deeply set larger eye sockets with prominent black pupils. The model is from the very first series of Kewpies produced in Germany, and then altered to a more simplified version. Very examples of this early version exist. Germany, circa 1910.
