Description
Three sheets, each about 14" x 20". Three sheets of heavy drawing paper contains original ink sketches by Rose O'Neill for her stories in Good Housekeeping, circa 1915-1917. Of particular note is a drawing for the February 1917 issue featuring a large crowd of Kewpies presenting a birthday cake to George Washington; shown emerging from the door of his house is a black man who resembles George Washington Carver and a googly-eyed black toddler. Each is signed Rose O'Neill.
