42" x 36" (107 x 92 cm.) A thick 1" wooden board has shaded sepia oil painting with fantasy depiction of two Kewpies centered by a four-panel shield that arises from a gnarly trunk and is flanked by two butterfly wings. A hand holding a pen arises above the shield and below a crest with the name O'Neill. The origin of the painting is unknown, although it appears to be part of a mantelpiece, possibly from an O'Neill residence. Circa 1920.
