3 3/4" (10 cm.) All-bisque standing Kewpie with right-glancing eyes, right arm extended with closed fist to hold wooden take, left arm held in stylized pose behind the back. Kewpie has a modeled and painted wide-brimmed sun hat sculpted to appear as though it was made of woven wicker. The figure represents one The Gardener from the classic line of Kewpie characters. Germany, circa 1915.
