Very Rare Kewpie Huggers As WWI Charity Relief Dolls

3 1/4" (8 cm.) All-bisque pair of hugging Kewpies, eyes glancing at each other, are wearing original costumes representing the flags of United States and Belgium. The dolls were presented to donors contributing to the Queen Elizabeth Fund for charity relief of Belgium children following WWI. The pair is preserved in glass-fronted wooden display case, and is extremely rare to find with the original costumes. Germany, circa 1917.
