13" (33 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead, stubble-tinted bald pate with sculpted brown tuft of hair at crown, sculpted ears, sculpted brown beard in unusual cut, moustache, enamel eyes, pronounced nose, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted green stockings and red boots, silk costume, and carrying tin lantern with brass accents. Very good condition. Left arm jointing loose, wear to paint on legs, costume silk frail. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, rare tin lantern accessory.
