23" (58 cm.) Bisque socket head, plump cheeks with deeply-impressed dimples, brown glass sleep eyes, mohair lashes, painted curly lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, wide-open mouth, outlined lips, row of upper porcelain teeth, tongue, row of lower porcelain teeth which disappear when the doll is lain down, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball- jointed body with side-hip jointing, antique dress, undergarments, socks and shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Germany 410 7. Comments: Marseille, circa 1913, commissioned by the doll firm of Robert Maaser with registered teeth mechanism curiously described as "movable jaw". Value Points: very rare model with delightful expression, virtually unknown in this larger size.
