Description
Each was presented to attendees of various festive Viennese balls, and is emblematic of the profession or social activity which sponsored the ball; including 2 1/2" metal urn with burgundy velvet tassels and silk dance card folio indicating "Burger Ball 18 Janner 1883"; 4 1/2" velvet-covered pedestal with attached thermometer indicating "Burger Ball XIl" of 1902; 2 1/4" diam. bellhop's cap which, when turned upside down, reveals a silk covered dance card for a ball of 1879; and 2" silver medallion with purple silk tassels which holds a hidden dance folio card for 1898. Very good/excellent condition, urn possibly missing stopper. Vienna, late 1800s.
