8" and 10". The larger clown, Koko, has white clown painted complexion with "O" shaped eyes and diamond point brows, red nose and wide red mouth, and is wearing original black cotton clown suit and cap with white felt pom-poms and white edging, based upon the cartoon character created by the Fleischer brothers in 1915 in a series of early animation strips from their "Out of the Inkwell" studios; Koko and the cartoon strip were popular from 1915 until 1927 although largely forgotten today. Along with unusual bisque-headed clown with painted decorations and glass eyes, on classic Schoenhut body with original clown costume. Both excellent condition. Koko is one of the rarest of the Schoenhut figures. Circa 1918.
