Description
23" (58 cm.) overall. Wooden framed fireplace in original ebony finish with white interiors, black diamond tiled floor, opening tin plate fire door, surmounted by a wooden mantle with faux-cabinet doors and a rich gilt ormolu mirror, along with wooden bellows and brass fire tool. A superb and very rare miniature furnishing, suitable sized for display with 12"-17" dolls, the fireplace is hand-lettered on the reverse "Etrennes 1880" indicating its origin as a Christmas season gift in 1880.
