16" (41 cm.) Thick paste porcelain swivel head with flat-cut neck socket that fits into complementary shoulder plate, painted facial features, blue upper glancing eyes with thick upper eyeliner and fringed lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with pert smile, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid body with gusset-jointed upper legs, ball-jointed knees with enclosed within kid lower legs, kid-over-wood upper arms, porcelain arms from above the elbows, separately sculpted fingers with painted nails. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Mme Rohmer Brevete SGDG (body stamp),circa 1860,the doll evidences two early Rohmer patents, viz, head attachment through unique stringing at the pate, and system for sitting by means of two grommet holes in torso for string attachment. Value Points: exquisite early Rohmer poupee with wonderful face, swivel neck, original signed body, wearing fine original costume, and owning her original trunk with two additional dresses, capes, hat in hat box, fan in original box, Loto game, leather purse, and various undergarments.
