24" (61 cm.) The wooden doll has egg-shaped head with elongated throat and torso with shapely front and flat back, black glass enamel inset eyes, tiny fringed lashes all around the eyes, fringed brows, shaped pointy tip nose, tiny closed mouth with painted lips, blushed cheeks, wig, simplistically carved dowel-jointed legs, cloth upper arms, muslin wrapped lower arms, wearing early homespun slip and pantalets, grey satin gown with metallic panels. Condition: generally excellent, few flaking spots but other wise finish is quite fine. Comments: England, circa 1780. Value Points: superb regal size of the early wooden doll with classic "dot" painted lashes and blushed rouge spots on cheeks.
