Description
8" Farmer. Carved wooden figures depict a smiling-face Farmer with painted goatee and brows, painted tall black boots; along with milkmaid having smiling expression, brown sculpted hair, blue stockings and black shoes; with four farm animals, viz: cow with glass eyes, closed mouth, bell; pig with glass eyes and carved open mouth; cat with glass eyes, whiskers, tail and closed mouth; and rabbit with glass eyes and closed mouth. Condition: very good to excellent. Comments: Schoenhut, circa 1912. Value Points: wonderfully detailed early version of the Americana set, the Farmer and milkmaid each wearing original costumes, and having original milk pail and stool.
