14" x 10" box. A wooden box with leather-like paper cover and elaborate bronze mounts and handles, hinges open to reveal interior fitted with a variety of sewing tools, glass-fronted boxes of colorful beads and pearls, little boxes with lithographed covers depicting children at play, containing more sewing supplies, threads, scissors, silver needle case, thimble, and more, including treasures stored in the pull-out drawer. French, circa 1885. Excellent condition.
