20" (51 cm.) Bisque swivel head with distinctive oval shape, on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, head and neck attachment based on the Dehors system allowing the head to tilt forward and side to side as well as pivot, cobalt blue glass enamel eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid fashion body with gusset hips and knees, kid over wooden upper arms, bisque arms to above the dimpled elbows, lovely gown of antique fabrics, undergarments, leather boots. Comments: attributed to Dehors, who deposed the life-like head/shoulder attachment in 1866 in time for exhibition of his poupees at the 1867 Universal Exposition in Paris. Value Points: very beautiful regal portrait lady with rare depose feature and lovely bisque, fine larger size.
