Description
6" (15 cm.) Each has bisque shoulder head with sculpted blonde hair and painted facial features, original muslin stitch-jointed body, bisque hands and lower legs, and each is costumed elaborately to represent a member of the court, including three ladies and two gentlemen. Condition: generally excellent, one missing foot, one missing hand. Comments: circa 1880, based upon the 1877 patent of Charles Keller for "Bebe Francais", describing a costumed dollhouse type doll; a major portion of his business concerned elaborately costumed miniature theatre dolls such as this set. Value Points: wonderfully detailed costumes are well-preserved on the rare to find dolls.
