17" (45 cm.) Pale bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, accented lips with hint of smile, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid fashion body with shapely torso, kid over wooden upper arms, bisque arms to above the elbows, with separately sculpted fingers, nicely costumed in gown of vintage mauve silk, undergarments, leather slippers. Condition: generally excellent, left baby finger broken. Marks: F (head and shoulder plate). Comments: from the letter series of Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1865. Value Points: very compelling dreamy expression is wonderfully achieved on the early signed poupee with especially sturdy body, choice bisque.
