A wooden armoire with dark walnut finish has beautifully paneled arch-shaped doors and crest, and opens to reveal an exceptionally fitted interior comprising stacks of doll-sized linens, towels, table spreads and napkins, tied in sets with original rose silk ribbons, or pinned to doors that are fitted on the interior with dotted tulle; a single drawer at the bottom contains more linens. Arranged in the center is a small bisque headed doll with blue glass eyes, open mouth, four teeth, original brunette mohair wig, five piece composition body, wearing original factory costume with bretelle-trimmed jacket, pleated bonnet with floral trim, marked AM 1896. Comments: the armoire appeared in various French department store Etrennes catalog, circa 1896,as a play model to teach young girls about a properly fitted home. Value Points: exceptionally preserved and beautifully designed armoire and contents.
