Fine cabinetmaker's quality miniature desk, known as "maitrise model", is of rich walnut with roll front of burled wood outlined with a double strip of inlays, the front opens to reveal leather tooled writing surface and pen tray, one full-length tray. Excellent condition of the elegantly shaped furniture with beautiful woods. French, early 19th century.
