16" (41 cm.) Solid domed paper mache head with slight wax overcoat, flat-cut neck socket that attaches to body by protruding dowel from torso, blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, lightly feathered brows, closed mouth with center accent line, blonde mohair wig, composition and wooden fully jointed body with flat-cut derriere, eight loose ball joints, straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Schmitt et Fils, circa 1875,early bebe from that firm preceding their bisque bebes. Value Points: very rare model with dear expression, original body, possibly original green woolen dress with lace overlay and blue silk sash, undergarments, shoes, socks, bonnet.
