Description
29" (74 cm.) An all-wooden carved horse with brown glass eyes, carved nostrils and open mouth with defined teeth, carved detail of knees and hooves, horsehair mane and tail, leather ear, is mounted upon a wheeled wooden platform with center iron rod in the manner of a carousel. The horse is painted in the dappled style of the classic Schoenhut circus horse with ochre shading at the nose and black hooves. Condition: structurally excellent, fine professional restoration of painting. Comments: Schoenhut, circa 1910,the horse was created as an exhibition model for display presentation. Value Points: extremely rare, very few examples of this exhibition model are known to exist.
