13" circ. head (33 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head with lightly tinted baby hair and brows, blue glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, muslin frog-shaped body especially designed for this doll by the artist, celluloid hands. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: copr. by Grace S. Putnam, made in Germany (head) (body also stamped). Comments: Bye-lo Baby, designed by American artist Grace S. Putnam,1923. Value Points: the infant baby wears elaborate gown and undergarments, and is preserved in its original box labeled "Bye-lo Baby, The Almost Human Doll, George Borgfeldt, New York".
