16" (41 cm.) Bisque socket head with slender facial modeling of older child, painted facial features, deeply set eyes with shaded blue coloring and upward glance, black upper eyeliner, one stroke tapered brows, closed mouth with richly shaded lips,blonde mohair braids, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent, chip on inside head rim. Marks: 150 S&H 0 1/2. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1910,from their art character series. Value Points: especially fine sculpting details with deeply impressed facial features of solemn-faced young lady, choice bisque and painting, original body and body finish.
