18" (46 cm.) Pale pressed bisque shoulder head with plump facial modeling, cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, unpierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with gusset jointing, porcelain arms to above the elbows, shaped fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Brevete D.D. S.G.D.G. (green stamp on torso) Comments: Duval-Denis, circa 1861,the firm succeeded the Blampoix firm for two years only at this time. Value Points: very rare early signed poupee with beautiful expression, and wonderful antique folklore style costume including lace coiffe, wicker basket, undergarments, shoes
