16" (41 cm.) Bisque shoulderhead with slender heart-shaped face, brown glass inset eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, brunette mohair wig, muslin body with stitch-jointed limbs, sewn on blue leather shoes, bisque forearms, antique cotton gown and apron, straw bonnet, undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 215 1 B&D Ltd Germany. Comments: Bawo and Dotter, circa 1910,a very rare series of character bisque dolls was produced by this firm and are considered some of the finest of the entire art character movement. Value Points: most beautiful facial expression with unusual facial shape, wistful look, choice bisque and painting.
