A wooden framed wagon with sculpted gesso decorations on the crest and base depicting woman's head and the words "Humpty Dumpty Circus" has gilded columns, wire cage rods, wooden wheels with carved detail, opening door at the back, driver's seat with driver having light brown painted hair, moustache and sideburns, and being pulled by two dappled wooden horses on wooden platform. Inside the cage is the Schoenhut wooden gorilla with two-part head and leather ears. Condition: gorilla in excellent condition, platform, tack, and driver's coat and hat replaced. Comments: Schoenhut, circa 1912. Value Points: one of the four parade wagons made by Schoenhut, and very rare to find; the gorilla is exceptionally rare particularly this first period model in fine condition.
