Solid domed bisque head with flat-cut neck socket, rounded facial modeling, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eye liner, painted lashes, brush-stroked and feathered brows, rose blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils and eye corenrs, open mouth, outlined and shaded lips, two rows of tiny teeth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig with original paper label "3",carton torso with mechanical clockwork interior, composition arms and lower legs. When keywound, the doll turns head from side to side, waves arms and legs and cries "mama". Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1885,the unusually large size of his bebe functions well, wears lavish original costume with original label from Paris toy store Au Nain Bleu, including extravagant bonnet, leather shoes signed with figure of doll.
