13 1/2" (35 cm.) All cloth doll with oil painted complexion, facial features and brown hair with blonde shading, painted blue eyes, thickly fringed lashes, and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, stitch-jointed cloth body with oil-painted lower limbs, antique calico dress. Condition: generally excellent, torso and upper limbs a bit dusty. Marks: Patented Sept. 26,(illegible.) Comments: Alabama Baby, made by Ella Smith, circa 1915. Value Points: pleasing small size of the American studio cloth doll with especially fine detail of painted eyes that appear very realistic.
